PRODUCT DESCRIPTION / FEATURES
FetoAct is a wearable automatic fetal movement monitoring device. Electronic sensors were used to detect the fetal movement via the force exerted on the mothers abdomen.
NEEDS
WHO reported 2.6 million stillbirths in 2015.
Busy mothers are often less sensitive to fetal movements.
Ultrasound (US) & Cardiotocography (CTG) machine are not affordable for the common people.
APPROACH
Sensors to detect the fetal movements.
Linked to a smart phone for display
BENEFITS
Current prototype costs: RM5OO/unit
Cheaper than CTG & US: >RM10,000.
Users have the benefit of constant update of the status of fetal health.
Less anxiety & less visits to hospitals.
COMPETITORS
CTG & US - expensive.
