TECHNOLOGY READINESS LEVEL (TRL)

PDF1

PDF1 is a prototype development fund for the development of TRL 4 – 6, especially for prototypes that have the potential to be marketed​.

PDF1 is aimed level of prototype at early version of develpoment from proof of concept, prototype testing, and market validation or purchase of goods which is important of development to another TRL

PDF2

PDF2 is a prototype development fund for TRL 7 – 9, dedicated to assisting product commercialization as well as testing and regulatory compliance​.

PDF2 aimed level of prototype at final version of develpoment final level of prototype testing, certification and accreditation.

PROJECT PERIOD

For a year or 12 months period of project.

GRAND AWARDS

1. Up to RM30,000 for PDF1
2.  Up to RM50,000 for PDF2

OUTPUT

• Mentor Mentee Program
  – 20 hours of mentoring engagement with selected UTM Spin-Off’s CEO
• Symbiosis Program
  – Produce Bussiness Plan and Bussiness Modal Canvas (BMC) of the project
• Training Program
  – Attend Compulsory for 3 Core & 2 Elective of Training
• Industry Collaboration
  – Licencing or;
  – Commercialisation injection funding or;
  – prototype purchasing

PROGRAM PURPOSES

Grants for deep-tech aiming at conquering future technology of UTM researchers that require funding injections as well as intensive facilitation to increase the value of existing commercialization are encouraged to utilize this grant to increase investment value through matching funds in line with the collaboration objectives.

This fund are also inclusive of commercialisation support through mentoring (Mentor-Mentee Program), industrial collaboration from external enterprise and advanced level of training.

These funds can also be used as a basis for applications for external funds such as MOSTI, MTDC, CRADLE and other agencies related to commercialization.

TECHNOLOGY READINESS LEVEL (TRL)

Special fund for products with patented IP achieved TRL 7-9
Highly marketable.

PROJECT PERIOD

For 2 years or 24 months period of project.

GRAND AWARDS

Up to RM100,000.00 with 50% matching grants from external collaborator.

OUTPUT

Commercialisation Product either licensing or outright sale.

PPP Innovation Technology Fund (3P InTech)

PROGRAM PURPOSES

The grant is established with the aim of encouraging participation from the Professional & Implementation Management Group (PPP) staff in innovation efforts. This grant aims to support the development of projects based on ideas or innovations that have a positive impact on the organization or the community as a whole.

This fund is open to all PPP staff members, including both permanent and contract staff, with job grades ranging from 1 to 54 under the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (P&I). If you meet the specified criteria, we encourage you to submit your application and participate in projects aimed at creating positive impacts within our organization and the broader community. Your innovative ideas and contributions are highly valued.

PROJECT PERIOD

For 1 year (12 months) period of project OR based on project requirements and panel approval.

GRAND AWARDS

Up to RM20,000.00 OR as decided by the JK Penilai Dana ICC.

OUTPUT

1. Successfully completing the project according to the approved and established project timeline.
2. Generating at least 1 (ONE) prototype/innovative product and filing for Intellectual Property (IP) protection.
